It’s all been said. It is worth a trip across Kyoto if you aren’t staying nearby. For us it was a random find when we went for a night walk around the (seemingly) drab streets near our hotel. We were made very welcome by the one man show. And we ate like a king and queen. The salad was so fresh and tasty. The fish superb. The desert gorgeous. Wine in half bottles, so civilised. We had the seasonal salad, the lamb chops with a fine mustard sauce, the fish special of the day, some wine, and the best coffee we have had in Japan.
