HUB British Pub Sanjōkiyamachi — Restaurant in Kyoto

This Hub is really nice. Situated on the second floor of a nice building with bkg windows, you are sure to feel happy with the views of the streets below. They do food and they do drinks and it's all very Britishwhile being very Japanese. Don't expect to order anywhere at the bar like back in the UK as it's all very concise to where and when you order and get given your drink. All in all its great! I was having a drink there with my japanese friend, then we invited two people that were drinking in the table nearby to join us and have a drink together, the staff said that that wasn't allowed, so i asked if i was allowed to talk with the tables nearby and the answer was " yes but don't talk too much"... In one minute of friendly conversation (i of course was laughing) 5 staff surrounded us like cops act with criminals... Great omotenashi, great...

English pub, hmm, well yes it looked a little bit like it and the food and drinks menu had an English flavour. Staff were great friendly and smiling. Would you see Japanese baseball on TV in an English pub? No! You would only see sport in an English sportz bar. Needs britpop on the music system.
