We came here on recommendation from a local. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was warm and very lively. The service was high quality, and the staff were very conscientious. The Kyogamo Tempura lunch (¥1,400) here is extremely reasonably priced for the attention to detail. Even the breaded fish was wrapped in a shiso leaf.

Kyogamo is duck raised in Kyoto Prefecture, not something you can easily find outside the region. The duck tempura was a tad oily but the duck was still tender and flavourful. Leave some rice for braised duck (¥700) and use that as the topping for your rice.

This restaurant has an excellent selection of duck dishes. We ordered one meal of multiple courses, and one duck shabu shabu. Everything we ate featured the duck so well, and the shabu shabu broth was so fragrant and delicious!
