I had a great experience with Matsui, it takes a while to build chemistry and understanding of your personal preference, and it’s amazing that Matsui managed to do that in a short span of time. I liked how the scents are numbered to prevent bias. I was concerned that the customised fragrance would be too simple given how most customised fragrances are usually composed of single notes. At My Only Fragrance, the scents are pre-mixed with at least 3 ingredients and when they come together in customised proportions, it makes something unique and personalised. The numbered scents on their own smell great too!

Matsui also had a great command of English which made communicating my preferences so much easier.

nakamura and kishizawa helped me with the whole perfume process ! you can do walk ins at this location which is great! some other locations you can only do by appointments.

when you first come inside there is a selection of scents to pick from. you can pick 2-3 and mix them together to create a scent you like. they will help recommend to you which percentage and help you adjust based on your desire scent.

you can add more scents / the top level which is already named scents but they cost 500 yen extra. (which is still pretty good)

there is 2 sizes to pick 50ML and 100ML & gold or silver cap!

overall i went here two days in a row & i enjoyed this location and the environment the most! i will be definitely coming back again! also it is super foreigner friendly! great place to visit and have fun...

Once in a lifetime experience you need to try if you’re visiting Kyoto! We came here to get a unique souvenir to commemorate our honeymoon, and the experience was even better than expected. They blind the scents and reveal what you’ve chosen upon selection. Matsui, our fragrance associate, was super helpful and encouraging throughout the whole process. He even helped us determine the best ratio for each of the scents we chose!

We loved that we could combine our love for experiences while also getting a unique souvenir you can’t find anywhere else.
