Kinyasu — Restaurant in Kyoto

Ordered the Japanese style lunch set. Sad to say I didn’t really enjoy anything in the little box except for the spinach and bean sprout salad hiding behind the little fried items. That little salad was so delicious I asked for the recipe. Otherwise, the items in the box were all either bland or just meh. Miso soup was too salty. The sashimi was and pickles were good though.

It seemed like the regular fried items and rice bowls were popular with the locals though. I watched the chef prepare fried shrimp from my counter seat and it looked delicious. The shrimp were big and meticulously prepared.

This place is truly special. They are so welcoming each time and food is elegant and also comforting and delicious. We can really taste each high quality ingredient.
