Take a break from overwhelming flavor blasts and savor a bowl of heartfelt chicken ramen at Rin Kyoto.
We visited on a Thursday night around 7 PM and were surprised to find it relatively quiet—no wait, and we were seated right away. The waitress kindly guided us to the ordering machine at the front, making the process smooth and easy.
We ordered the Specialty Chicken Ramen and the Shio Chicken Ramen (with an extra egg). The food arrived in about 10 minutes—a good sign that everything is freshly prepared.
The Specialty Chicken Ramen was the star of the night. The broth might seem subtle compared to bold street-food flavors, but it has incredible depth that keeps you coming back for more. The noodles are intentionally softer to soak up the broth, but if you prefer them firmer, just ask—they’re happy to adjust.
The Shio Chicken Ramen was also delicious—no complaints at all.

I have had many bowls of Shoyu ramen at lower-end establishments that were significantly better. The white miso ramen was bland although artfully presented. It was completely void of any flavor at all. Quite frankly, the soup base tasted like yuzu-infused water. I should also note that we waited at least thirty minutes for the ramen to come out of the kitchen, despite the fact that the restaraunt was not at full capacity. There is much better ramen to be had in Kyoto- especially in the area surrounding Nishiki Market. I urge you to skip this...
Read moreSolid ramen joint with a few standout features. They offer both soy sauce and salt-based broths, and honestly, you can't go wrong with either - both pack a flavorful punch.
If you're looking to elevate your bowl, go for the wonton topping. It's a game-changer and definitely worth trying.
The noodles are on the thin side, which I like, but they tend to err on the softer side. If you prefer your noodles with more bite, you might want to mention that when ordering.
Staff are friendly and they've got an English menu, making it easy for non-Japanese speakers to navigate their options.
All in all, it's a reliable spot for a satisfying...
