I had the chance to visit Kyoto Wagyu Burger 4th during their pre-opening and it was one of the best burger experiences I’ve had in Japan. If you're searching for a top-tier wagyu burger in Kyoto, this place should be at the top of your list.
They use a 100 percent Kuroge Wagyu patty, and you can really taste the richness and quality in every bite. I tried the mushroom burger, which was packed with umami and incredibly satisfying. The onion rings were crispy, golden, and not greasy at all. A perfect side.
Another highlight was the drink selection. They serve local sake and craft beer, which adds a special touch. I had a sake that paired really well with the burger and it brought a whole new dimension to the meal.
One thing to note is that the shop is located on the fourth floor, so it takes a bit of a climb. But once you arrive, it is completely worth it. The space is cozy and modern, with a clean design that still feels local. Even during the pre-opening, the staff was friendly and clearly passionate about the food.
Highly recommend checking this place out whether you are a local or visiting Kyoto. It is a great break from the usual tourist food and a must-try for wagyu lovers. I will...
Read moreAs a local here, I can say that this place stands out as a genuine quality burger spot with a distinct Japanese flavor. This isn’t just any burger joint—it offers a premium wagyu experience in burger form. The patty, made from 100% Japanese Black Wagyu, is juicy and rich in umami, perfectly complemented by a soft, freshly baked bun and a unique house sauce that enhances the taste without overshadowing the beef. You can enjoy various options like the classic, cheeseburger, or even a double wagyu, all highlighting the excellent quality of the wagyu.
I enjoyed the classic wagyu burger alongside hot sake, and the combination was excellent. The warmth and subtle acidity of the sake balanced the rich flavor of the wagyu, making every bite a delight. The portion size is just right—not too heavy—and the staff are welcoming and helpful, with English menus available for travelers.
The only minor drawbacks are the small dining area located upstairs without an elevator, requiring a bit of a climb. The prices lean toward the premium side but fairly reflect the high-quality ingredients. For anyone wanting a top-tier burger in Kyoto with that unique Japanese touch, this place is definitely worth...
Read moreI stopped by Kyoto Wagyu Burger during my trip to Kyoto from Singapore, and honestly, it turned out to be one of my favorite meals in the city. I have had plenty of wagyu burgers back home, but this one really stood out because of the wagyu beef.
The patty was super juicy, rich in flavor, and cooked just right. You can taste the difference compared to a regular burger. The bun was soft and fluffy but held together perfectly, and the cheese balanced the wagyu without being too heavy. I also got the truffle fries, which were crispy and so addictive.
The shop itself is cozy and has a laid-back vibe, and the staff were really friendly. They explained a bit about the wagyu they use, which made the whole experience feel even more special.
It’s not the cheapest burger in Kyoto, but for the quality of wagyu you get, I think it’s worth it. Next time I want to try some of their other burgers — I heard they do a Kyoto-style one that sounds amazing.
If you’re visiting Kyoto and want to try wagyu in a fun, casual way (not just in a kaseki or teppanyaki), this place is 100% worth...
