La Jyho — Restaurant in Kyoto

We had such a wonderful dining experience at La Jyho last night. The atmosphere felt exclusive yet comfortable, making it a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff were warm, attentive, and very accommodating, which really made the evening extra memorable.

The food selection was good, and we enjoyed every bite. But what truly stood out was their thoughtful service — I made a same-day reservation and requested a birthday plate greeting, and they delivered it beautifully! It was such a heartfelt touch that made me feel celebrated.

To make the night even more special, they surprised us with a complimentary picture as a keepsake. That simple gesture meant so much, and it’s something we’ll treasure as a memory of the night.

Update 13 May 2025.. google maps sent us to the back alleyway where there is no entrance, so just come off the Main Street, entrance is on the west side of building. The buffet says free food and drink 4000-5000, but it is 75,000 and there are no alcoholic drinks but yes pop and juice is included. We decided not to eat there as we felt better options were available for the close to 200,000 yen by the time we added wine, so I kept its 4 star rating to just update prices, we never tried the food...

5000 yen for the lunch/dinner buffet. I went for a lunch. Due to COVID we had to pick a time slot to come in. We get 2 hours of eating time.

Food selection is good. Has a salad bar, meats, seafood, breads, drinks (juice, tea, coffee), curries, rice, and dessert. There is wine for an extra charge.
