Have a dinner here on Sep. 9th. Frankly speaking, the dishes are good. But I am really disappointed for the service.

My wife and I want to have one more cup of wine. There are several waiters not far away from us. I raised my hand and look at them for 10 seconds at least. All of the waiters are free and no one look at me. They just turned off their head and do nothing. I am wondering if this is a cheap restaurant with bad service??

3 minutes later, I raised my hand again. The waiters are still not far away us. And they still ignored my service asking. I gave up. I will not have a dinner again. And I do not recommend any one to here. You do not deserve to have this kind of...

京都駅からすぐのモダンなホテル

「THE THOUSAND KYOTO(ザ・サウザンドキョウト)」に誕生した

『SCALAE(スカーラエ)』

なに…このカッコよさ…ヤバない！？

美しすぎる階段を上りお店のある2階へ。

モロ好みの美しい店内は間違いなく「デート飯」にもピッタリですね(笑)

こちらのSCALAE…実は外苑前の大好き(だった)イタリアン「iCas storia(イカスストーリア)」の芝原シェフが移籍してきたお店なんですよね。だった…って過去形なのはコロナの影響でCloseしてしまったんだよ(涙)

だから京都にきたら絶対に来たかったんだ。

今回は特別にSpecialな個室を用意してくれたよ。

まずはグラスの赤ワイン「キャンティ」で乾杯。

■パルマ産生ハムと2種類のチーズのピッツァ仕立て

チーズはモッツァレラ、スカモルッツァの2種。下には金柑のコンポート。

上品な生ハムの塩味とソフトな食感と、金柑の爽やかな香りと共に。

■菊芋のフラン

なめらかな菊芋と海老の旨味と焼いたことによる苦味…。

菊芋のチップはいいアクセントになってるね。

■真ダコのフリットとファンネルのサラダ

トマト、イカの煮汁、セロリ、3種の彩りも美しいソースに目を奪われます。

普通タコって食感を残す方向に行くと思うんだけど、意外にもタコを柔らかく仕上げてるのが印象的。

■ライ麦パン

■ほうれん草のジェノベーゼ仕立てスパゲッティーニ

見るも美しい色鮮やかなグリーンのパスタ。

アーモンドナッツの香りが漂い、ほうれん草のえぐみが全くない調理法もお見事。

Wow. Goosebumps. I don't usually bother w writing reviews but I had to, today. Had the Foglia course for lunch and it's as though I could feel the chefs' sincerity and heart behind their dishes. They were all so filling, and perhaps the portion was a tad bit much for the spaghettini dish, but it's overall...
