The perfect blend of French cooking and local Kyoto flavours. A dinner course restaurant, we went for the medium course set as the menu had more of what we like to eat. Everything was made so well. A perfect balance of flavours and high level of technique was evident as well.
Despite it being a multi course menu, the options were well portioned and very easy to eat. Everything flowed and was light enough to continue on to the next course easily. We are not very good eaters but we ate everything with gusto this time. Even my husband who dislikes sweets inhaled the desserts.
Also don't be too judgemental by the curry on the menu. Though seeming our of place for french cuisine the flavours will surprise you.
Price, I would is considered very decent for the quality of products used. Though not the cheapest dining experiences that tourists go for, I feel it is worth the spend as a treat.
Both the chefs which were cooking and serving also speak English quite well. So it's easy to communicate if you are coming to visit from somewhere else
Highly recommended to experience this restaurant while in Kyoto. This place deserves to get some Michelin stars and I hope they get some...

We happened to meet the owner and head chef Manabu who was extremely friendly and spoke great English. We were unable to afford the regular set menu but he was happy to accommodate our budget and give us an abbreviated tour of the dishes.
The food was excellent across the board and the entire evening was one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had to date. The service was also fantastic, every course was presented by Manabu at the table and we spent the whole evening trading stories as each dish was prepared.
I will definitely be coming back...
