We had the most incredible dinner at LUDENS. The restaurant is actually Japanese Italian fusion. The waiter and chef were so friendly and personable. The tasting menu was delicious. I will remember this meal forever and we eat at a lot of great restaurants. The meal was paired with gorgeous Italian wines and some sake (add on). The ambiance was so peaceful and zen. Evening writing this, I fall into a happy place. Definitely experience this amazing umami meal. I even gave their business card to the hotel we stayed at and told them to tell guests about this restaurant. Loved loved loved this culinary...

Ludens is an absolute must visit for those going to Kyoto. The entire experience was memorable - from medicinal soup that was perfect for the rainy day, to the pasta, and the refreshing dessert. Highlights were the unagi donburi risotto (mind blowing!), fresh handmade pasta, cappon magro (seafood salad), and pomelo dessert. Will definitely return for the...

What an amazing place with super diversified food! If you feel like you had enough classical Japanese food, but do not feel like entirely get out of the Japanese mode Ludens is your address.
