MAHA CURRY Saga-Arashiyama — Restaurant in Kyoto

Went to Japan for our honeymoon, decided to visit arashiyama bamboo forest at night and was looking for a place to get a bite - this place was still opened but in process of closing.

The guy stayed back and cooked for us and was super friendly.

My wife and i are from Australia, and we can say this was some of the best curry I've ever had to this date.

I've been to Singapore, Malaysia, and around Australia, but nothing comes close. Will definitely be returning to Japan, and this is on our list to return to.

Also, the mango lassi is to die for. Just get it.

This is a great place to eat if you are tired of the tourists and Japanese cuisine. I eat here every chance I get. The dinks are insanely underpriced and the food is amazingly delicious sincerely the best value for price in all of Arashiyama. I couldn’t recommend it more 10/10 on food and price.

As for the atmosphere it is hidden from the street and there are mostly Japanese people eating there. If you are tired of tourist then this is the place for you.
