We came to Sushi Iso in after a long and full day, in our first trip to Japan. The space was pretty small, with a quiet atmosphere. We sat at the counter watching the chef prepare the sushi. He did it with such care and precision and was very sweet and welcoming. He didn't speak very much English and we didn't speak very much Japanese but we had easy going conversation, and he was extremely polite and humble. At the end of our meal he gave us little origami figurines for us to take back for memories and repetitively thanked us for visiting. The fish tasted fresh and high quality. We spent around 2,000-3,000 Yen per person here. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place. He was so friendly and I would recommend this for tourists traveling in smaller groups and people that can roughly communicate in Japanese.

Superbe expérience, gentillesse du maître sushi, propriétaire ! Sushis de qualité, avec un excellent thon notamment. Je recommande fortement.

Each order of sushi comes with a small savory egg pudding (tastes like bacon and egg) and a small soup with tofu. They give you a cup of seaweed tea upon entering. I really like that wasabi doesn't automatically come with the orders. You have to request it separately. The chef asked to make sure if I wanted it or not as well. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a fan of hot breakfast-type eggs and meat, so I didn't eat much of the savory egg. I asked about dessert options after I ate my meal, and they said they have several ice creams available. They were out of cookies and cream when I was there, so I just had a scoop of vanilla, which still satisfied my craving. Both Japanese and English menus are available.

We had a great experience here. The restaurant's space is very cozy and clean. Because we arrived early, we had the opportunity to sit at the counter and chat with the chef. He was a nice and welcoming person. When he knew this trip was our honeymoon, he gave us a glass of super dry asahi beer and it tasted great. Even though I'm not a beer drinker, I immediately liked the taste. It has a gentle fragrance and no bitter aftertaste. Speaking of food, I absolutely love the sushi here. We ordered the lunch set. The sushi is made from fresh ingredients and is thick. I can feel its sweetness when I eat it. The portion was quite generous so we were quite full after finishing the meal. Highly recommend...
