Matsuya - Shijo Omiya Station — Restaurant in Kyoto

There are Matsuya chain restaurants all over Kyoto, Tokyo, and Osaka. It has become our favorite inexpensive and fast, morning breakfast place to go. Once you enter, you find a machine nearby the door to place your order (which you can convert to English). After selecting and paying, you'll receive tickets. Simply find a place to sit and the staff will come over to you with a cup of water and take your tickets. No conversation is necessary throughout the whole process too. Best ramen we had in our two weeks trip in Japan. Cosy and small restaurant and very fast service but still a pleasant atmosphere. Near Gion in Kyoto so good to stop there for a nice dinner before to head for a pub or izakaya....
