Gyoza no Ohsho - Shijo Omiya — Restaurant in Kyoto

Went there yesterday since I was in the mood for some チンジャーロース and I knew it was very cheap since it's a chain restaurant. However, I was not prepared for the sheer amount of people that were waiting in line. The kitchen on the first floor was clearly understaffed - you can't really have only 5 people serve 75 all at once. I was sitting on a counter right in front of the cooks so I could hear them panting and saying they can't take it anymore. Props to them for not giving up! Those 5 people were the real heroes! The gyoza was tasty 😋 but the chinja was oilier than I expected. However, I ate plenty for only 800 yen. Had to wait for just that more than 40 minutes but I guess it's worth it for the price alone (I know a nearby restaurant that sells the same dish for about 1700 yen!) Food was amazing considering the super cheap price! The staffs were really friendly and even though they don’t really speak english but they tried their best to explain everything to us so props to them 🙌

Fried rice and crab stick omelette were superb! You can really taste the wokhay

Waiting time for gyoza was a bit long and the taste was (surprisingly) mediocre compared to other dishes. A bit too oily for my liking but still acceptable

It was one of the best gyozas I've ever had. They come in three different flavors, original, garlic, and ginger. We ordered all 3 and had to reorder the garlic and the original one more time. It's very crispy on one side and soft on the other and delicious and juicy inside. The gyoza went obviously great with Asahi beer.
