We took a gamble on this hotel, at the time there were only three Japanese reviews, and I’m so glad we did! We struggled to find something to accommodate our family of 4 (including two preteen boys) that didn’t cost hundreds of dollars per night. ||We booked the bunk bed room and it was perfect! This is a no frills hotel, but that’s fine because we were only there to sleep and shower. The hotel is new and nicely done. There is always an employee at the front desk 24/7 and they provide a phone with gps and wifi when you check in, so if you don’t have a phone while traveling that may be helpful to you (we had our own cells so I never tried using it). ||The room is tiny. Each bunk has a shelf, light, and two plugs for charging devices (if you have a US three prong plug, they have adaptors at the desk). The bathroom is small but convenient for multiple people to get ready at the same time - the toilet has its own door, the shower has a lockable door with frosted glass. There is a small kitchenette in the bathroom (hot plate and mini fridge, plus a second sink). They provide a kettle, pots & pans, plus shampoo/conditioner/body wash so you can pack light. The room also has a closet for shoes & suitcase storage and hanging clothes. There is a TV on the wall viewable from the beds as well as a small table on the floor and a tiny patio. ||You are a minute walk (tops) from Omiya station... this is a private line and not easy to navigate for English speakers. However, it also has a popular bus stop and a taxi stand so it was easy to grab road transportation. We were also by a 7-11, Daiso, and McDonalds while|still being tucked away on a quiet side street. ||I’m so glad we stayed here! No breakfast or pool or fancy lobby, but again we were out in Kyoto during the day exploring the city. A fantastic option at a budget price. Good for families or friends traveling together. They offer laundry facilities (including detergent) and a bathtub room that you can reserve (helpful if you have little ones or just want a soak since the rooms only have showers... fyi it’s a...
Read moreWe're in Japan visiting our son. Our travel agent booked this for us, asking for a room with good views. It's advertised as a 'queen' room with kitchenette. It does have a window, which looks out at a wall two feet away. It has a queen bed with no headboard and no reading lights, and only two small pillows. The kitchenette's cooking facilities consist of a hot plate, 3 bowls, 3 plates. Utensils are a kitchen scissors, a knife, a spatula, and two sets of plastic chopsticks. It has two fry pans one 6" and one 10". Astonishingly there is no soaking tub, our son told us it's the first time he's seen that here. Other reviews mentioned sweets in the room, ours had none. According to the in room documents fresh linens are only given every 3 days. The towels are almost see through, and the heater, so far, seems unable to warm the room. The walls are bare, and it feels like we are in a cell. It's the first time in my life I've had a hotel room with no natural light. It is clean, probably because it's barren. This was written on our first day...
Read moreI gave this hotel a high rating because it was perfect for what my husband and I needed( a place to sleep and shower ) I was very skeptical about this place when I went inside. We had just booked this hotel the night before. There was no personnel on site , that’s most important and I knew that when I booked it. I got a very detailed direction for what to do when i got there via email. Please do not forget your key code and check in code. I had it via email and took a picture of it and had my husband take a picture of it just in case .
Everything went smoothly . The rooms were small but decent. Like I said we just needed a place to shower , sleep and hold our stuff while we explored. It was also close to a lot of shops/restaurants , train stations and bus stops. I guess the only thing that I had an issue with is probably the size of the towels . The first night we got microfiber towels which would have been fine but they were small. They barely covered the body . The second night we got regular towels but they were...
