Nageune Kkeoptegi — Restaurant in Kyoto

Food was mediocre compared to what I've had in the states. We weren't explained that rice and veggies didn't come with the real but later ordered rice. I saw people eating it with veggie in a certain way so it would have been nice to be informed of the process. I don't know why I expected that level of service when as soon as we entered, the guy seems so bothered we were there. Not a smile or a welcome notion. We sat at the table he gestured to and immediately placed utensils as if it to throw them at us. Same with the small dishes. It was loud and not well mannered. He asked if we spoke Japanese and even before we said "sorry no" he turned away as if in digust. He didn't treat us well and didn't treat the other guests well either. Food and restaurant was fine but he made the whole experience almost unbearable. I should've walked out. His dislike for foreigners was obvious. He should not be in the industry of hospitality especially in a super touristy spot. I know there are horrible tourists as there are good tourists but kindess goes along way. We were definitely not horrible. Two stars for the food...

I recently visited this Korean restaurant and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The service was poor, with slow and inattentive waitstaff who seemed more interested in chatting with each other than serving customers.

To make matters worse, the quality of the meat was some of the worst I've ever had at a Korean restaurant. It was tough, flavorless, and seemed like it had been sitting out for too long.

On top of all of this, I couldn't help but feel that the restaurant was not authentic Korean at all. It seemed like a cheap imitation, with lackluster dishes and an overall lack of attention to detail.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality Korean dining experience. Save your money and...

The place is tidy with traditional Korean Barbeque decoration. Shop owner and staffs are Korean but they can speak native Japanese and fluent English.
