I super appreciate the dedication to excellence found at Plolenta. My wife and enjoyed the cuisine and hospitality. Excellent Italian food with a deep menu mixed with fresh ingredients, including several seafood options. From the appetizer to the desert it was equally impressive. This is a two person operation that should not be missed. This is dedication to Italian cuisine practiced with great care and integrity. Not only was the chef running the kitchen SOLO… which is nuts on its own… he was also taking orders, pouring drinks and serving. The man can cook and apparently everything else too. This isn’t your average Italian, this is classic traditional REAL Italian, like you’d get in Italy with authenticity and care. As I chef myself, I’m not easy to please but I was blown away, what a find! If I was here in Kyoto any longer I would be a regular here.

We decided to go to Osteria bar polenta and we unexpectadly had one of the best dinners of our lives. We had the caprese salad, the truffle pasta, wagyu steak and a bottle of montepulciano, and all of them were sublime.
