Not one to usually leave reviews but this place was appalling. The waitress and chef were both extremely rude and passive aggressive. We went there and the restaurant was empty (never a good sign) and they still insisted on giving us the two person table by the door instead of the corner booth (the restaurant remained empty until we left). After we ordered they then told us to pay upfront before our meal, and when we requested extra cheese we were told it’s was not possible. Food was nothing to write home about either. Have to say it was the worst service and eating experience we have received in Japan.
EDIT: Very surprised as there is quite the hype around it on Instagram and other social media. Checking Google reviews too, there seems to be pleasant reviews, either these customers got a different team working here or they simply haven’t experienced quality service. Perhaps we disappointed them when we came (we arrived at 7:30) and they were closing up by 8:00 and locked the door immediately after we left at 8:15 (45 minutes before their listed closing time). Not sure what to make of all this, but I’d honestly dodge this place if you can, not worth rolling the dice on it and there are plenty of much better...
Read moreDining at Chururu was a wonderful experience! The Mitarashi Mochi Udon and Chicken Katsu Udon were not only delicious but also beautifully presented (especially the unique combination of Mitarashi Dango and Udon), making the meal a true delight. The soup was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the Udon and adding depth to the dishes. Despite being the only customers, the staff was courteous and provided excellent service whenever needed.
Situated on the second floor, the restaurant might be easy to overlook. The ambiance is fresh and comfortable, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. The price of the food is also reasonable.
Chururu is definitely an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy exquisite Udon in a cozy and inviting setting, and an eatery that deserves a...
Read moreA charming little restaurant with great udon! Try the Mentaiko Cream Udon, even if you shy away from fish like I do. It's so tasty! The Mitarashi Mochi Udon is also delightful. I couldn't decide between the mochi udon and the tempura chicken, so I ordered the mochi udon and a side of tempura chicken, which was the right choice! Lovely service and unique decor on the wall. We'll probably be back during our...
