Cute little cake shop along the Philosopher's Path between Ginkakuji and Eikando. The grandpa (owner) is so kind and always cheerful. Lately, I passed by the shop multiple times but it was closed. Fortunately when I went this afternoon, it is open and the grandpa also has another customers which somehow make me happy. While we arrived two weeks too early for the cherry blossoms (as you can see from the bare trees) a secondary reward was eating the homemade orange peel cake. Let me tell you, the butter cake with perfect crumbles and zests orange peel zest go very well with a cup of coffee.
