One of the places I'll remember most on my recent trip to Kyoto. Despite the size, it's packed with art and the elderly couple that run the store were extremely kind and generous. They have work from a variety of Japanese artists and if you are interested in the ukiyo-e artist Kiyochika, they have a good selection of his ACTUAL woodblock prints. They also have some rare woodblock print "magazines/books" that are over 150 years old! Just off philosopher's path, and a stone's throw from Yojiya cafe...your afternoon...

The art pieces were just amazing, the drawings and prints are organized beautifully in drawers and it's easy to find what you're looking for. The elderly lady who worked there is the most precious gem of the entire store, how can someone be so lovely?
