TL;DR - Good, affordable food close to Fushimi Inari Taisha Food is ordered through the kiosk immediately to the left of the entry, with options for several different languages. Even though it’s a machine, it’s cash only. Navigating the menu might take a moment to get the hang of, but it’s fairly straightforward. Food comes out quick and is hot and satisfying. The rice bowls had a decent amount of wagyu, but only a single slice of salmon, but given how affordable the sides were, we didn’t mind. The salmon dandan noodles were available in 3 spice levels and the level 3 spice was pretty spicy, but didn’t have the numbing effect or mala spice that I tend to expect from dandan noodles. This was really a spicy ramen with a sesame-based or flavored broth that was absolutely delicious. There was some ground pork and a thin slice of pork that went well with the crispy burdock root (I think that’s what it was) on top. I’d eat here again and would recommend it to anyone in the area, though if you are expecting dandan noodles, be sure to adjust your expectations and I think it’ll still be enjoyable.

The food was good, but we had a really really bad dining experience. We arrived at 17:50 and start waiting outside. There was only a family of four in the queue and we are a group of three. When there were tables or seats available, the staff wouldn’t think of letting us in. So people just waited outside when there were actually tables suitable for them. Also, after we got seated and ordered our food, we noticed that the food were prepared very very very extremely slowly. We three got served with our food after 40 mins (we ordered at 18:23 and got our food at 19:03, ps. the staff served our food to other customers by mistakes…..) If you want to come to have noodles here, the expected waiting time after ordering the food is 30-40mins. Not only us, but also the family in front of us and many other customers all waited for their food for such a long time. The staff seemed to not care about the people waiting outside in the sun and the hot temperature and didn’t know what they were doing.

Absolutely loved the ramen here. I got the white salmon ramen and it tasted heavenly! I wish they had a bigger portion of the salmon, but they also did have slices of pork in there, so I had enough to eat. I got there just a bit before lunch time, so I had to wait a bit before being seated. There are no chairs to sit in while waiting, so take note for those who can't stand long. It was easy to order, they had one of those ticket machines, which had an English language option, and you pay at the machine too. The staff were really nice and friendly as well. Overall, a great experience and would recommend to anyone visiting (especially if you're going to the Fushimi Inari...
