Inari Station — Local services in Kyoto

The Inari JR station is conveniently located right at the entrance of Fushimi Inari Taisha. Thousands of tourists and locals take trains to this station from Kyoto and nearby areas to visit this popular destination. The station has ticket vending machines, maps of the train lines and directions that can be easily followed. Same entrance is used for both direction platform, but the Kyoto line is connected via over bridge.

There are multiple display boards on both platforms showing info for incoming trains. Both our trains for arriving and leaving were on time. The trains do get crowded around closing time between 4pm-5pm. There are several vending machines for drinks and sodas as well. The station provides access to the popular and beautiful Fushimi Inari Temple. The station is directly accessible from Kyoto main station, with a local train on the JR Nara Line (be careful not to take an express train). It's a small station but the entrance to the temple, which is immediately at the exit, will drain travelers out of the station. The temple and nearby shops provide a very lively atmosphere during the summer period, sometimes a little too much with the thousands of tourists attracted by the reputation...
