If I could give them 0 stars, I would. This place is untypical Japanese. Extremely bad attitude and to make things worse, the food wasn’t even any good (my unagi don had a fishy taste). No offer of tea refills, not even the standard wet tissue or a piece of napkin. The staff was so eager to drive us away, clearing our bowls even before we were done. The shop’s policy of ‘one person, one order’ is plastered all over the shop in many different languages. We were instructed to share our table for four with two other strangers even though the restaurant was less than half filled. To top things off, we overheard an extremely rude staff insisting that a toddler (who is probably around the age of 3) order a meal in order for the entire family to be seated. Totally bad vibes about this place and such a pain to my ears to hear the staff repeat their shop’s ‘policy’ again and again to potential customers. Avoid...
Read moreVisited January of 2020. Inari is one of my favorite dishes, and my partner read this was a great place for it.
A plate of 8 delicious inari was 1050¥, which is pretty reasonable for that amount/quality. However, like many others have pointed out, they require 1 order per person. We ordered two pieces of eel (half of what you would get at a restaurant) for 1900¥. The eel was delicious, but way overpriced.
In regards to service, the small staff was friendly. However, we asked for water we never received, we did not receive napkins, and we weren't notified of the "1 plate 1 person" policy until we were seated (you can't see this from outside).
The food tasted great, the inari portions were impressive, but the prices for everything else were ridiculous. Next time we visit Fushimi Inari we will be looking for our inari...
Read moreReally bad service, man grilling eel at the entrance stop us as one of us holding a octopus dumpling. Promise him not eating in his restaurant but he insisted to keep my octopus dumpling under his grill which I don't think clean. Then a woman looking at you rudely and also saying the same thing blocking the entrance, like gangster. Kind of racist, doesn't like kids and Chinese. Feeling insulted, we decided not going in and pop in the next restaurant where service is excellent and kids friendly, the shop let us order two set lunch which included delicious sons and tempura rice(kids do not need to order)and provided two bowls even without asking, very friendly and did not push us to eat quickly. I highly suggest to avoid the one with grilled eel at the shop...
