Read moreMy friends and I ordered set menus: I got the plant-based, and they got the meat. I will only comment on the meal I ate as I cannot speak to the taste of the meat dishes. Firstly, my appetizer was a tomato with some pickled onions and sauce. While it was tasty, I wasn't blown away as the main flavor was raw tomato. The next course was a cold potato soup, which was similarly OK. I've had better potage soup. The next course was a green risotto, which, while decent, was also just OK for me. I wanted an extra complexity of the flavour that I thought just wasn't quite there. The next course was my favorite: the grilled vegetables with what tasted like a sesame mousse. It was very good, especially the bamboo shoot. The dessert was a bit disappointing: strawberries in a white sauce that had a certain odd grittiness to it. We also tried the sake tasting flight, which was very good. The service was friendly, but we were asked by different servers whether or not we had gotten our next course or next sake tasting, which indicated a bit of disorganization. The ambiance was great. We were seated by the window with a view of the trees outside, and the lighting was very...

Breakfast is a 5/5 though (reviewed separately with the hotel). I’d come here just for the breakfast even if I wasn’t staying. It’s...
