The owner cooks the food in front of you and greets you with a warm smile and great conversation. She speaks English and is married to a Sri Lankan guy. She has great recommendations for things to do around Kyoto and it was fun talking with her about our impressions of Japan, what we did so far on our trip, and our plans for the rest of our stay. After lunch she even ensured we headed towards the correct bus stop to reach Rokoun-ji Temple. The food was phenomenal with the right amount of spice and all the flavors that took us right back to Sri Lanka and all the memories of our incredible trip to that beautiful country.
