Sushiro Gojo is a great place if you're looking for sushi, good prices, and a novel conveyor-belt experience. It is also conveniently located with a few minutes walk from Tambaguchi (JR) station. We walked by around 7PM on a Monday evening to see huge lineups, so we decided to go back the next day for a very late dinner (around 10:00PM). The restaurant was still full, but we only had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated. The service was minimal (as to be expected at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant), but the servers were friendly. It was our first time eating at an establishment like this in Japan and we made the incredibly shameful mistake of taking some sushis off the conveyor belt that were not ours. You have the option to order à la carte from the iPad at your table, and the food will arrive in special coloured bowls (each table is assigned a different colour). Make sure that you don't pluck any food off of these coloured bowls, and that you only take the ones off the common plates. We felt horrible when the couple sitting at the table next to us pointed out our mistake (we had already taken about 4 plates that did not belong to us). Please learn from us and do not commit the same faux-pas! As for the sushi, we are not sushi connoisseurs however I can attest that it tasted fresh and of good quality. The sushi that came around on the conveyor belt are the more popular ones (salmon, tuna, tamago, etc.) but there are plenty of other à la carte options that you can order from the iPad. The corn and potato maki was delicious and something that I haven't seen back home. Altogether, the total for two people (not including alcohol) was about 3,000 yen which we found to be incredibly reasonable considering how much we ate. This is a perfect spot for budget travellers. It would also be a fun experience for travellers...
Read moreChoosing スシロー because it’s a place where I can dine in a relaxed manner without having to worry too much. Sometimes i don’t even need to communicate with anyone and enjoy my meal. Which is great for introverted people. Of course, when I do need help the staff were very friendly and attentive. I have been here many times and I am happy with it so far. This place is always busy with many people visiting right from the start of business hours. Even near closing time there might still be a lot of people. Sometimes it might need to wait in line for quite a while. Be sure to time your visit well. Based on my experience, the crowds are relatively less between 3:00 and 4:30 PM, just...
Read more(March 2023) This is a fairly large restaurant of a popular sushi chain. At the entrance you have to take a ticket by selecting the number of people in the machine and the staff directs you to a table. Each table is assigned a plate colour and you can only take one from the belt. The cheapest plates are about 150 yen each, so you can eat cheaply by choosing only tuna or salmon nigiri. For 2 people (about 16 plates) we paid 2500 yen. There is unlimited green tea, and there is a machine in the hallway with water to pour into a cup. The first time I ate it I liked it very much, but when you try sushi from a normal restaurant the chain...
