I would simply like to highlight as a dog owner that the temperament of some of the smaller dogs is not suitable for interaction.
Many of them are skittish and in fact growling at new humans because of being overly handled and left without personal space.
The cafe is actually overbooked so the dogs are being forced to interact too much with people.
I can see some people are a little too pushy and will have almost been bitten because the dogs were sleeping and needing their space.
I think to be sustainable, they need more dogs on a rotational basis, as well as some dogs with better temperments suited to humans.
Besides that, I think the owner and staff tries her best to keep the peace between the dogs and people but is sometimes under pressure because what is advertised isn't what you get, and so she is forced to move the dogs closer to us.
While I understand the reason for this,I ultimately don't agree with it.
I think being point blank honest, that in general, dog petting cafes are not sustainable because most of the time dogs need to sleep alot.
Alot of expectations sometimes have to be managed also, with many clients being entitled and saying "I paid for this, so I should be allowed to do...
Read moreFirst dog cafe experience and it was very disappointing.
You don’t get to interact with the dogs much at all because they are either fighting with each other, barking, sitting by the door waiting for the staff to come back, or being too stressed to play. There were two staff upstairs, one was clearly new because none of the dogs listened to her and she kind of just sat there. The other girl was clearly closer to the dogs as the dogs would follow her everywhere she went, and would all wait for her at the door (up to 15 minutes) while she was gone. You will be basically paying to watch her interact with the dogs or watch the dogs walk around themselves, plus two drinks from the vending machine. It is really not worth it. Don't expect to actually play with the dogs. The positive reviews are only there because they offer people 20% discount if they leave a good review. Don't trust the reviews. Would recommend anyone to avoid this place...
Read moreNot worth it... I went with my family group of 4 and got 10 mini treats to share between us, only one dog came up to us and once it finished the treats in less then 5 minutes no other dogs came up to us. We sat for 25 minutes doing nothing and no dogs interacting with us. I tried to interact with a couple of dogs but they ended up trying to bite me, ( I didn't try to pick them up, I let them sniff my hand and I attempted to pat there back). The dogs were Cleary overstimulated and didn't want to be there. We had no help from the worker who was to busy taking photos of the dogs to give us tips to help us. My sister stood up to throw away rubbish from the treats and the dogs ran up to her and starting barking at her, the worker than got annoyed at her for trying to throw away rubbish. I wouldn't recommend...
