Great ramen. English menu. There are two different broths you can get. Pork/chicken base or shoyu. The pork/chicken base is a thick broth that clings to the ramen noddles. It is heavier then any cup of noddles or top ramen store bought stuff. It is so delicious. The shoyu base is great. Could have another slice of pork in it but honestly I'm so full off the ramen that I'm okay with it. Kids set are great! One is a plate with ramen(top w/ green onion and corn) , fried rice, octopus cut hot dogs, melon jello and the kids get to pick a toy out before leaving. My daughter enjoyed the meal. A decent bowl of ramen with a new style I've never tried before.
Ordered the kotteri style ramen set, which is a thicker and richer broth, and includes a bowl of rice and gyoza for 1100 yen.
It definitely wasn't like the ramen I'm used to. The broth has a porridge/stew like consistency which coats the noodles very well and goes great on some rice. My friends thought it was weird, but I found it very comforting. The sets let you choose from gyoza or karaage, and they were both great.
This restaurant is probably closer to a 3/5 in Japanese standards, but I'd definitely come back if I wanted...
Read moreJust like all the other English reviews for this place, don't judge it for its looks. It's not extremely inviting/looks sketchy but head inside and you'll be greeted with a warm welcome. Tenkaippin is a chain in Japan, and we visited a couple more after coming here, but the others were not comparable to here at all. The Ramen broth we chose was super thick, so good. I would say the most unique Ramen I've ever had. Had a bowl, with fried chicken for about $9-10 CAD....
