The way of WAGYU — Restaurant in Kyoto

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this experience. On one hand, the food tasted delicious, but there were a lot of things that was done wrong, and as it was quite pricey (the most expensive wagyu beef we have had in Japan) I had high expectations.

First of all, the red wine was served ice cold, straight from a really cold fridge, so I had to warm the glass in my hands to try warm it up a little.

Then our order was messes up twice, so the 100g beef was put down as 150g, and both orders were cooked to the same degree of rareness even though I ordered mine more cooked than my friend. Despite all of that, it could have been fine, but when the food arrived we got only half the order, the rice took another 10-15 minutes. The beef and vegetables were barely warm to begin with, so we just had to start eating them without the rice. The beef was just a little above room temperature, the potato a little warmer, but the mushrooms were cold. It was also a bit odd that there was so little vegetables, only half a potato and half a mushroom per person on the plate, and that was the only side dish we had withe the beef seing as the rice wasn’t served with the rest of the food.

The flavor of all the food was delicious, I just wish we could have enjoyed it warm. The meal cost us more than any other meal we have had in the 10 days we have been here (10 000+) so we expected it to be executed better than this.

That being said, the server who took our order apologized and tried to fix the mistake about the size, so we don’t fault him for that mistake at all, but the food being so cold and not served together ruined the...

We ordered the wagyu bowls with high expectations, anticipating tender, flavorful cuts of beef. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed by the quality of the dish. The bowls contained overwhelmingly large portions of fat and only minimal actual meat, giving the impression that we were served scraps rather than premium wagyu. I expressed my concerns politely to the staff, but the response from both the chef and server was indifferent and dismissive, which further detracted from the dining experience. Given the reputation and price point of the restaurant, this was deeply...

Just arrived in Kyoto and saw this restaurant, decided to come in only to be greeted by an amazing and caring staff, one of them even spoke Spanish...place super comfortable specially on a warm spring day...so I check the menu and I followed mi hermanos suggestion, and it could t be better...I won't put in to words, since words won't be able to express the care and love they have put on my set menu .. a young lady was doing the meat..almost in a zen way the flavours just where perfect....totally recomend the set menu...worth every penny...
