Absolutely not recommend this place if you are a foreigner. Also their cost is pretty high for service they provide. The owner lady was so good and kind as soon as we entered the shop, she didn’t even explain the types and costs, instead directly they started collecting our bags and asked us to select dresses even while my husband kept saying first explain the process and costs. It was evident that we do not know anything about kimono and the process they follow in rentals she tricked us. Worst part is how they tied us the clothes inside. There was this used towel which they put inside and I was thinking it was for reference and they will remove but they didn’t remove. They tied like 8 clothes till last belt. Even though there were many belts and bows to select there, they only gave 2-3 from their choice and asked to select. And they were rushing us so much even though there was nobody else in the queue. Here comes the next part, the hair do. Me and my friend both of us were not asked which hairstyle we want and directly started making hair. They didn’t even comb, it was like they were doing it for free or something. The hair spoiled the entire look. Then came a native person and they were asking her which hair style she wanted also showing her some reference pictures. This was not the worst part yet, I didnt wear any makeup before since I wanted to wear kimono and do makeup accordingly but this owner dominant lady came and standing beside me and controlling me how I should wear makeup because her dress will get spoiled She didn’t even allow me to open mask. She was behaving like I was her house maid or something. She totally upset me with her attitude. We paid 14k for 2 women and 1 men and took all her arrogant nonsense attitude. The whole day I was upset and couldn’t enjoy my trip because of her nasty attitude. We came back with in 2 hours and threw her dress on face. I do not recommend this women for any foreigners. She is extremely commercial person with rude behavior. And do not think about customer satisfaction. No wonder they do not have any reservations. That explains it all. Even if we have reservation and queue its better to opt such places because they give u proper 1 hour time and attend...
Read moreI had quite a horrible experience here. I first wanted to go to another shop but the wait was too long so I found this shop on the go. The price was much higher than previous shop 1890 to 6600 yen but I was ok to pay because I liked the pattern and was in a rush. However, the manager said I can only wear wide size. I thought ok maybe Japanese size is smaller than other countries coz I used to live in the uk. But the female staffs that help me change into kimono cannot stop talking to themselves in Japanese and giggle all the time. Especially when they have to put belt/obi on my waist they looked as if they are amused and not sure if they can/how to put it. Looked at each other and giggle and try to pull it hard. I was very uncomfortable tbh because I cannot understand Japanese but despite that they kept giggling and talking to each other even though I ask why they laugh. Like 98% of time spent laughing… I was not in my best shape after Covid and these are very rude and inappropriate. I don’t know if this is fat shaming or not but it is inappropriate from where I used to live for sure. Tbh they should make customer feel confident but no not really. I had much better experience renting in other countries eg Korea, China, Thailand. I didn’t want to leave my bags in their locker because I carry cash and my passport around. The manager was not please and asked us to pay deposit of 10,000 each while the total kimono cost 13,000 for two of us. She eventually gave in and ask where we came from and have us pay the kimono fee. Once we came back, they were nice to us though. I was quite surprised tbh.But I felt that it’s only when we have purchased from them. I also lost my Jr pass after that but to be fair I might have lost it somewhere else which add to the horrible exp. Definitely not worth the price though and you can rent a better style kimono near gion...
Read moreWent there last February to celebrate my birthday. This is my first time to wear a kimono. I am so happy with the photos. 🩷🌸 They have 2 staff inside the shop that is assigned to help you wear the kimono and a young lady is assigned to do the hair. It only lasted for about 15 mins, I guess. They were so fast and professional.
I made a reservation in the morning and arrived there the same day before lunch. They are very accommodating. They let me pick my kimono. For the price of ¥6,600 it includes the kimono, bag, socks, shoes and hairstyle. They will show you 2 types of hairstyle.
You must need to return to the shop by 5:30 pm.
About your clothes, they put all your stuff in a huge bag and give you a number. Don’t lose that number tag.
TIPS: You will feel uncomfortable using the slippers after a long time so, you can bring your sneakers. I used my sneakers when we went from Fushimiinari to Kiyomizudera. I just changed to slippers when taking...
