You Go Curry — Restaurant in Kyoto

I LOVED this cute mom and pop shop! We were supposed to go to a different curry place but came here instead cause the other location was closed, and we were glad we did!! The curry was sweet with chunks of beef and just slightly spicy and the pork katsu was perfectly fried and golden and crispy without it being too bready. The side salad was also amazing and refreshing to eat. The ambiance and view was incredible and it felt very peaceful sitting outside, enjoying a homemade curry taste, while seeing people go by their day to day. Our only regret is we can’t come back! This is probably THE BEST Japanese curry we’ve ever tasted. Chanced upon this cute restaurant when we visited the Philosopher’s Path. The staff are really nice and friendly and they even let us charge our phones. We stayed outside, it was really nice eating with a view of the Philosopher’s Path. I had the beef curry and it was delicious! I've lived in Japan for 25 years and, honestly, it was the best beef curry I've ever eaten. If you're in this part of Kyoto, right near Ginkakuji Temple, definitely try it...or even if you're not in the area, it's worth the trip!
