We walked in with no reservation at 18:00 and we were seated immediately. The staff were very clear that they didn't have English menus and didn't speak English, but despite that we managed just fine. The food was really damn good, it was fun to cook it ourselves. A note on the wagyu, the less fatty cuts are like normal meat (but with the best flavor you've ever had in your life), the more fatty cuts are literally like eating a hunk of butter. Do with that information what you will 😂. I found it a little bit odd that the staff informed us via a written card that they would call the police on us if we gave them any trouble with discrepancies between what we ordered and what we got. Sort of an unnecessary precursor to what was otherwise a very pleasant meal. Lastly, our capital one venture X (visa) was declined (weird because we had been using it all day every day with no issues here in Japan) but our Mastercard went through fine. We spent about $55 for two people which is...
Read moreOne of the finest Korean barbeque restaurants in Nagano Prefecture in Japan serving excellent grilled meats with a history for more than 50 years. They serve awesome domestic beef and pork, including Shinshu beef. The service is also good. If you like lean meat, I recommend the loin (say "loosu" in Japanese, if you like the richness of beef fat, I recommend the ribs (say "karubi"), and Korean-style cabbage "choregi" salad is healthy and will keep you coming back for more. There are reasonable set menus. This is a restaurant my family always stops by when we visit Matsumoto. It is about a 7-minute walk from...
Read moreMeat was fresh and great quality. May be a little daunting to foreigners but do not let that deter you from here! The food was good and staff was friendly. With a notice to non-Japanese speaking visitors in English, you may feel a little uneasy but that’s to keep both parties on the same page when dining here.
The atmosphere was fun. Lots of locals eating, drinking, laughing. Grilling your own meat with charcoal is something that everyone should experience. The smoke from the charcoal makes the meat so much more flavourful. Would definitely visit again when...
