I’d walked past this place loads of times and always wondered about it, but never went in. Today I just popped in on my own without a booking. They said I could sit at the counter, so that’s where I went. To be honest, the counter feels just right when you’re by yourself.

The special today was grilled Pacific saury. A bit on the pricey side, but it was big and really tasty. My first saury of the year!

Then I ordered a seafood futomaki roll I saw someone else eating — it was 1,880 yen. Not only was the roll packed, but there were loads of sashimi pieces on top too, plus some grated yam. Really filling! Best way to eat it is to pop a piece on a small plate, add the yam, a bit of wasabi soy, and then lift the plate to eat so it doesn’t spill everywhere. Definitely want to have it again!

少し嫌になりながら、席に座り、メニューを決める。 お茶はセルフらしく、コップとポットが置いてあったが、ポットは空 厨房の中では店員同士がおしゃべりに夢中 ベルで呼び出し、お茶がないことを言うと だまーって確認しに行き、スペアを確認してもそちらにもお茶がなかったらしく こちらに何も言わずにポットにお茶を入れに行く 散々待たされて、何も言わずにポットを置いていく もう、辞めようかと思ったが待ち合わせしていた為、グッと我慢する
