Visited Blue Bottle Coffee Nagoya Sakae today and had an amazing experience. The cafe is beautifully designed, minimalist, warm wood textures, and lots of natural light. It feels calm and spacious, a perfect place to slow down and enjoy a good cup of coffee in the middle of the city.
I ordered a blend café latte, a single origin drip coffee, and a waffle. The latte was smooth and well-balanced with silky micro-foam and beautiful latte art. The espresso had a pleasant sweetness and nuttiness that paired perfectly with the milk. The single origin drip coffee was clean and bright, allowing the beans’ natural flavor notes to shine through. You can really taste the difference in quality here.
The waffle was lightly crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served with a side of cream and chocolate crumbles. Not overly sweet — just right to complement the coffee.
Service was friendly, and even though the cafe was busy, our drinks were prepared thoughtfully.
If you love specialty coffee and a calm, stylish space to relax, this Blue Bottle location is definitely worth a visit. Highly...
Read moreAbsolutely awful. We came to have breakfast. I ordered the breakfast plate, which is very expensive (1700 yen). For that price, you get one egg, two slices of bacon, two small tasteless frozen waffles, 1/4 of a cooked avocado (the quantity is ridiculous), a bit of salad, and a small spoon of hummus… and that’s it. For the price, the portion is far from enough. As for the taste, it was truly disgusting. Even though I was very hungry, I couldn’t eat my plate because it tasted so bad.
I also ordered an overnight oat. It was horrible – just muesli soaked in milk. That’s not how overnight oats are supposed to be made. The texture should be firm, not liquid. Again, the portion was tiny and the taste was awful.
I really don’t understand the positive reviews how is it possible to serve such bad food at this price? Please have some self-respect and don’t eat at this café!
As for the drinks, the latte was good, but the orange juice was disgusting.
Too bad I can’t...
Read moreI stayed in Nagoya for 9 nights in January 2025. The Blue Bottle Coffee Shop in Nagoya became my "go to" place for coffee. I had over 20 lattes during that period made from their Italian brand coffee machine, which were all consistently good. The option of their blend of beans or single origin roast provided good variety. The staff were very friendly and helpful over my numerous visits. I observed their consistent adherence to a careful process of making each cup. I observed this too with other styles of coffee they made at the counter that I did not try myself, e.g. pour over. I highly recommend this cafe. I am a fussy coffee consumer and tried many cafes during my 6 week trip to Japan. This café was great. The café is spacious and modern with comfortable seating. It is ideally located on the ground floor level of a modern building at an easy to find intersection adjacent to a...
