Had to try the local miso katsu for our one day in Nagoya. We have had katsu many times before and it rarely disappoints. This was also the case at Katsumasa. Very tasty pork loin and generous portion sizes with the option of refilling rice and soup for the set meal we both chose. We both asked for barley rice but got one barley and one regular, which wasn't an issue as I was fine to eat the regular ones. However, while the miso sauce was good, it was very intense so it would probably have been better to have it on the side or only add a little to the plate to begin with (we didn't think of this and could've probably asked for it) instead of covering half of the meat with it. Aside from being able to control the amount of sauce yourself it also keeps the katsu more crispy as it's then not covered in the sauce for too long.
