SUGIMOTO THE STEAK — Restaurant in Nagoya

Lunch at this restaurant was unquestionably the highlight of my dining experiences in Japan. After a 45-minute walk exploring the neighborhood, this establishment stood out, welcoming guests with a thoughtfully displayed menu at the entrance. Upon arrival, two attentive staff greeted me warmly and showed me to a comfortable bar seat in a serene, well-appointed dining room. Service was impeccable from the start—a delicate, refreshing hand towel set the stage for the meal. I opted for the full lunch course, which featured a starter, a main dish with both fish and steak, an artfully crafted dessert, and freshly brewed coffee (see photos). Each plate was a testament to culinary finesse: the starter was vibrant and opened the palate beautifully; the fish was moist and flaky, the steak tender and intensely flavorful. Dessert offered a harmonious finish, and the coffee rounded out the experience, leaving a lasting sense of contentment. Extraordinary! The atmosphere is welcoming, well-maintained, and very clean. The staff is extremely kind and attentive to every customer’s need, with the great advantage that they speak English, making it easy to communicate any menu changes. In particular, we mentioned food allergies, and they carefully followed all instructions regarding the ingredients. The meat was truly outstanding and cooked to perfection, exactly as we wanted it—an amazing experience! The meat and vegetable minestrone was also excellent. We finished with the crème brûlée, which is garnished with fruit (though this isn’t mentioned on the menu). The staff immediately brought us a new serving of dessert with great professionalism and kindness. As Italians, we can say that everything was truly excellent and delicious—even the coffee. Just go for caesar salad wagyu beef and sirloin steaks with grilled veg. The wagyu from kumamoto just melts in mouth while the sirloin was just right with a minimal fat and beefy.
