Terrible service. Great food. A real shame, it could be a slam dunk place! Service and how you feel in a place has a big impact on how you enjoy your meal. We felt unwelcome. Hence the rating, even with great food.
The speciality is croffles (croissant pressed in a waffle iron) with both savoury and sweet options.
My wife had a sweet one (without icecream) i had the benedict. She really enjoyed hers.
The benedict was really delicious. Well balanced, gooey egg (soft poached), though unsure exactly how it was cooked, it kind of made me think microwave or something, it was a very cooked on part the white and then uncooked other parts. It came with a little side salad that was super fresh and had a ceaser style dressing that was super yummy.
You can't modify anything on their menu. I wanted smoked salmon (which is in their menu on another item), and they wouldn't allow it. Similar issues i had with their ordering system (no paper menu, which i detest) when ordering my coffee, I couldn't request a double shot/strong coffee.
My coffee was still really nice, considering it was not where near strong enough for me.
The matcha was one of the best we've had, so definitely give that a go.
Another thing about their ordering system was choosing when my coffee came. Pre, with or post meal. And it came when requested (with) Awesome!
Super clean tables and restaurant, it is new or they clean it very well.
If you don't care about service, definitely come here. It was beyond cold. Not rude, just as if we didn't exist. No smile. No welcome. Didn't come to the table when we arrived, we had to go to ask for a menu and I got almost yelled at when I tried to grab what looked like a menu. The menu is digital, so scan a QR code. Which seemed like it didn't work on Android. I had to prove it wasn't working multiple times. Then she showed it worked on her phone. So I said ok can I use yours, she shook her head. Then another girl got it on her phone and kindly offered it to me to use. I had to ask for water. It is summer, it was 35 degrees outside. Not a word about how the meal was when I paid. The most I heard from them un provoked was thank you as we were going...
Read moreHonestly unreal how delicious the food and drinks were. This was our first time checking out cafes in this area and I was drawn here by Google photos of the iced drinks and croffles, we are so delighted we chose to go here!
Originally I expected to start with sweet croffles and coffee and head somewhere else for savory breaky, but I was pleasantly surprised to see they had savory offerings as well. We chose the eggs Benedict croffle and caramel banana croffles with two iced Farben lattes and everything was perfection. It was so good we came back the next day for another Benedict croffle, this time also trying their eggplant bacon pizza (very thin crust but super flavorful!), iced caramel latte and iced orange latte (seasonal). Again, everything was spectacular. Their croffles and iced drinks are the best I’ve ever had, can’t recommend this chill & friendly spot enough!
For access, we went to the 3rd floor cafe for both visits. They had a sandwich board in front the staircase to the cafe/bar space so it was pretty easy to find. Once inside, we ordered via QR code at the table which had an English option so it was super simple...
Read moreBy far, my favorite coffee spot of my visit to Japan. I got the black sesame drink and it was absolutely divine. The flavors and complexity was something I’ve never had before. We came right when it opened and had the whole place for ourself. The staff was very warm and welcoming. It’s very easy to order as you do it through your phone. Would definitely recommend...
