Kaya cafe — Restaurant in Osaka

Kaya Cafe is a location that specializes in drinks, tiramisus, and omelettes. I personally came here for the tiramisu and overall had an OK experience, partly due to the heat inside the restaurant.

I ordered the "Green Tea Tiramisu." It tasted light and you had a good mix of flavors of matcha, tofu, and ladyfingers. None of the flavors are overwhelming.

They have an English menu. Be sure to ask what their seasonal dish is. Summer 2023 is a peach flavor. For ordering, you order at the register, get a number, and find a seat.

The atmosphere is rustic, like an old building that you try to remodel as best as possible. It's charming, but can get pretty humid in the summer where the AC doesn't do its job.

Cozy little dessert cafe in a 100 year old house. It's run by a soft spoken and very polite owner originally from Vancouver. It offers a variety of tofu based desserts (pancakes and cakes), as well as a few other desserts, that are prepared upon order. There are also a variety of teas, coffees and juices.

The owner's English is good, which is a plus for tourists. He also offered suggestions to local eateries based on his own local experience.

DELICIOUS tofu tiramisu in a myriad of traditional flavours - could you really ask for much more?! Well they deliver. Homely and beautiful, antique decorated space that was so cosy for the wet weather outside. Very cool to know that they offer a variety of omurice too for a very good price. Providing 4 stars for the service as there was only one apologetic lady who was running the cashier, making the food and drinks - very understandable for delays since she running all areas but it does impact the service you're offered.
