KINBOSHI PASTA CAFE — Restaurant in Osaka

As a foreigner I was really surprised by the quality and texture of the pasta. It was cooked al dente and the Japanese style carbonara was very rich in flavor coupled by the cod roe for a more umami taste. The thinly sliced perilla leaf and eggplant gave the dish more nuisance as well. I really did not expect such a delectable pasta dish in this Osaka mall. I personally thought the portion was just the right amount. I also got the matcha latte which was very well made. The salad was a bit mediocre. It did not seem very fresh but the pasta and matcha latte made up for it. The cook / chef was also very enthusiastic. I could tell that he was a very good cook and was very hard working. I would definitely come back if I were visiting Osaka again. I wish they would try to make an english version of their menu so that it is easier to order food. It is really not that difficult to do. It just takes a little more time and effort. 京阪シティモール天満橋のB1。(ミスタードーナツの近く) 店頭のショーケースの中の「あの頃のいちご」と言うケーキにツレが一目惚れして、お茶することに。 ケーキセット1,030円(税込)～と書いてあったので、値段が良く分からないが可愛いケーキが食べたかったのでチャレンジ！結果、「あの頃のいちご」「ラピヌ」は、ケーキ単体710円税込で、セットにすると1,120円税込でした。

ツレは、運ばれてきたケーキに感激。「(いちごのヘタまで)食べれる！(プラの飾りかと思っていた。)」と嬉しそう(どんなけ田舎者…)。しばし愛でておりました。

イートインでは、ソフトクリームと盛りつけてくれてあるのが嬉しいですね。 私は「ラピヌ」を頂きました。 一番下は、タルト生地じゃなくてコーンフレークをチョコで固めた風(イチゴ味？嬉しい！)で、フワフワのスポンジがあり、その上ベリーソース。ホワイトチョコムースは、濃厚で甘過ぎずベリーソースと良く合います。ただ、四種類を一緒に食べると何がなんだか分からん感じになってしまったので、それぞれ別々にベリーソースをつけて食し、楽しみました。(これは、これでなんか得した気分。が、パティシエの手間暇を無下にしてしまっている？！) 紅茶は、種類が分かりませんが、 しっかり芳香のある美味しい茶葉でした。カップも暖かいのを出してくれたのがうれしい。ポットサービスだったのです、なんと南部鉄器の藍花のポット！美味しいはずです。お湯を南部鉄器で沸かしているのかは不明ですが(聞けば良かった)、これはもっと知られていてもよいのでは？！ ツレの珈琲は、「普通」とのことでした。
