This place is awesome. I randomly walked in off the street around 4:30 pm and the place was empty, which concerned me, but was filling up by the time I left. Extremely friendly staff. I’m a total meathead. I’m a newbie to Kobe beef. Had it once before in the US, but I’ve had lots of Wagyu and I must say the sirloin is miles ahead of it. Surprisingly I preferred the less expensive sirloin to the more expensive chateaubriand. I highly recommend trying the sampler of both so you can make your own decision and go from there. I decided to order the sirloin sashimi, referred to as “loin” on the sashimi menu after the sampler and it was my hands down favorite. I totally splurged and the prices are what I expected, but there are lots of surprisingly affordable options if you are on a budget and don’t have a hollow leg like me. If you are from the US the exchange rate is great at the moment. They take credit cards and they are English friendly. Did I mention they have liter beers? The owner was very helpful and extremely nice. He spoke english very well and was more than happy to help me with my japanese. You are allowed to order as you're passing by but he made sure that we were being attended and that we were comfortable. The crab was very filling and very affordable. We received our food pretty quick and also tried some of the beef which was so so delicious. Some of the other meat is on the pricier side but there are still affordable meat on the menu and the service just makes the experience that much better.
