Lovely ramen shop 💛 We got special soy sauce (No. 1), special chicken paitan (No. 2), iekei chicken paitan (No. 4), and fried chicken karaage.
Special soy sauce ramen had a very umami soup! Pleasantly surprised that it was neither too salty nor one-note. Iekei chicken paitan ramen had a thicker soup that had a bonito-like flavour (to me). This one was also served with rice, bean sauce, and bonito vinegar (the waitress showed us how to eat these). Special chicken paitan ramen had a super rich broth, but it was too thick for our liking. The ramen noodles were tasty and each bowl had lots of ingredients (chashu, menma, whole egg, nori). Chicken kaarage was crispy and savoury! They fry the chicken upon order.
The waitress was welcoming and friendly, taking time to explain the menu options to us 😊 We came on a weekday lunch and were the only tourists, saw lots of local businessmen coming in and out. Defo a hidden gem...
Read moreThis was my first time here. The atmosphere is bright and relaxed. The ramen is made with chicken soup and kombu seaweed broth. The soup has a deep flavor, but a light aftertaste. The rare pork slices on rice look delicious, and are topped with a fresh egg that was caught that morning, and are delicious enough to live up to your expectations. It's a ramen shop I’ll want to visit...
Read moreI found the toripaitan to taste too much like tonkotsu broth. It was overly thick, somewhat porky in taste, and almost difficult to drink at times. The toppings were also simplistic, and didn’t seem to be calibrated at balancing out the richness of the broth. The noodles were great, but it could not make up for the disappointing broth. The char siew also lacked fragrance. That being said, great service. Perhaps I’ll be back to try their...
