I can't recommend the place as a foreigner. I could tell they were really reluctant about letting me in, although I waited patiently at the entrance and used Google translate to ask if there is availability. The chef that prepared the okonomiaki in front of me was really professional and the food tasted really good. I can't really say the same about the 2 young waitresses that worked there. One of them came to me with something that after some research I learnt it was called oshibori. I reluctantly looked at the towel, washed my hands on it then I looked at her and she gestured to me to wash my hands with it throughoutly. After that they started talking to each other and giggling about the "gaijin". I could tell they were laughing about me and it made me feel uncomfortable. As I travelled a lot around the world and I haven't been to Japan for long, I obviously wasn't aware of this towel custom, but that's a childish reason to laugh about someone. They didn't even come back to take my order so I had to wave at the chef in front of me and order from him.
Later when my boyfriend came too, they were all excited and pointing to the better seats behind for him, but when he pointed that he wanted to sit next to me their faces fell. 😅 It sounded like a bad soap opera situation, but it wasn't. Please, hire more professional personal. This is...

Amazing place that is definitely NOT a tourist trap. You won't find a more authentic place than this! Some reviewers do not recommend it because the experience was too real for them. They probably tried to get in wearing Oakley's and cargo shorts and speaking English 🤣
