Me and my husband came here by recommendation from a travel blog and honestly it was disappointing. I truly appreciate the time and craft that took into making coffee but it was not that good. I wanted to order a plain cheesecake also showing pictures from google maps but was told I can't get plain but only tiramisu instead. I don't like tiramisu but got it anyway because the barista seemed very annoyed at us the whole time. Not sure how plain cheesecake would be unavailable since as I saw the barista prepare it, it was just plain cheesecake that he sprinkled tiramisu powder on top, so he could just not add the powder. I'm not going to go in more detail about the service because it could be a result of the language barrier as we don't speak japanese so that's on us. But the biggest thing was honestly for the prices, the customer service and portion sizes are insane. I was shocked to see how small the cheesecake slices were. We regret going there and spending so much money, definitely overhyped. I don't usually write reviews but I recommend going to any other cafe in the area where the customer service is better. Such a difference from what we experienced in other cafes in Osaka. Unrelated to the rating but FYI there is no english menu and no...
Read moreWe came in and the owner (who can speak little English) was talking to two locals. The smell of coffee roasting was very strong and today I had a super sensitive nose so it got abit hard to tolerate. Otherwise, im usually ok with the roasting smell.
We came from another coffee place so I didn’t wanna have another coffee. My husband did though so we ordered 1 cup of coffee and a cheesecake. The owner was very impatient with us and it was obvious the way he talked to us versus the locals, isn’t the same. He said if I don’t order a coffee my hubby had to get his coffee as a takeaway. And no cheesecake for us cos we cannot share one cake. We agreed. And before we even got up, he took our cups of plain waters and clean tissues and quickly toss them down the sink, as if he can’t wait for us to leave.
Note that when we were there, there was only 1 Japanese couple that he was chatting too. The store was empty.
Felt abit biased against. So therefore marking down on service...
Read moreThe owner is soft-spoken and friendly, he made me feel very relaxed. It was very calming to drink coffee in his space. His menu is in Japanese but you can ask him for recommendations. He recommended me a light roast drip coffee based on my preferences and it was perfect! Complex notes but it still maintained lightness without being overly acidic. His brew was so good that I had to buy a bag of beans home to try.
Strongly recommend a visit (or multiple visits) for...
