The meat slices had a funny aftertaste. Like it was not fresh or beginning to spoil. The soup was too thick and even though I ordered a rich soup base, it felt like it was lacking taste. The soup was too thick. The noodles are too thin and had very little taste as well probably because of the soup. What made the whole experience worse was me and my friend went into the shop when there was very few people. We asked a male waiter (a little dark skinned about 172cm) if we could go upstairs to sit since there were private tables upstairs. He mumbled something and motioned us to sit at the counter instead. Not long after another family of 4 came and went upstairs to sit. We then asked the same waiter if we could sit upstairs however he lied to us and said there was only a toilet upstairs. Being fed up that our simple request was ignored and that we were being lied to, I walked upstairs and motioned my friend to move as well. Later on while serving us our food, his body language to our table showed that he was visibly peeved with us despite him lying to us. Mind you upstairs there were groups of 2 people sitting upstairs as well. Watch out if you're a tourist! Don't be fooled by the images and "allure" of beef broth. It's poor service makes the whole...
Read moreFound this place through YouTube! When you search “Osaka must-eats,” this spot shows up in a bunch of videos. Out of all the places, this one looked the most promising—so I made it my first stop.
It brought back memories from 10 years ago… Right before I joined the army, I followed some blog-recommended places, and honestly? Total letdown. Except for the Horai dumplings, everything else was bland, the service was terrible, and the place was packed only with Koreans.
This spot, at least, was friendlier and the food wasn’t bad—it was just… average. Compared to some of the hidden gems I found myself through Google, YouTube didn’t quite deliver. Apparently Park Myung-soo even recommended it, but maybe because it’s so popular with Korean tourists now, the greeting felt kind of blunt and rushed.
That said, the yaki-gyoza was juicy and flavorful — definitely the...
Read moreMugen Ramen has a new branch in front of Candy Apple Osaka, and we went there for dinner.
We are coming with 7 people and they have quite a big space in level 2 that said can accomodate up to 20+ people.
We ordered:
Spicy Ramen 5/5⭐️tastes surprisingly very refreshing and flavorful. very good. Spicy but still enjoyable.
Braised pork and beef ramen 4/5 ⭐️— We ordered the “rich broth”. Soup was quite rich and a bit too creamy & foamy but not so umami (?).
Charsiu pork rice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I think this is the highlight of the menu. They have the rice and ramen package, also you can order the rice ala carte (they have small & medium size). The soft Japanese rice combined with chopped charsiu pork that was so flavorful + kewpie mayo!!! so creamy, umami & yummy makes you want more and more.
Not to mention, their employee all was so friendly and their service was...
