A must try for any visitor to Osaka. Had a fantastic time and the sake master is a true master. It is a little hard to find, as you have a small stairway and go up two flights. It’s not very well signed. Google maps will get you there . As some of the other reviewers mentioned.,you definitely have to try the smoked cheese with, several of the sakes. The use of translation apps add to the experience. So there is no issue with languages..

I was looking for the restaurant next door but turns out this place serves vegetarian and homemade food to pair with a wide selection of sake and an amazing complimentary sencha poor (you have to see it, it’s a beautiful process). The owner was super nice and helpful. Thank you for the unexpected great evening!

間接照明の柔らかな明かりが灯るお店のバックバーや棚には日本酒がずらりと並んでいます。 カウンターと大きなソファ席のある静かな大人の空間。 今夜は先輩とのサシ飲みの2軒目、最初にお店の方から 「お腹の空き具合」を聞かれます。 お腹が空いてたら定食メニュー、 お腹が満たされていたら つきだし小鉢3品　1300円 その他、小鉢5品　1800円 日替わり甘味もの　350円〜など 一品も色々とある様です。 2軒目なのでお腹にたまらない小鉢をお任せでお願いしました。 ◆切り干し大根 ◆高野豆腐 ◆梅おかかのなめ茸 これらをアテに日本酒をいただきま〜す♫ 日本酒愛の深いオーナーさんの 日本酒プレゼンは何の説明を受けても美味しそうで魅力的♡ そして最初に好みを伝えているので何を飲んでもそれぞれが美味しいです+ﾟ｡*(*´∀｀*)*｡ﾟ+ 私は ◆広島県の寶剱（ほうけん） ◆佐賀県のGOMARU 先輩は ◆山形県の別嬪 ◆島根県の十旭日　甲辰 ◆純米本みりん みりんを飲む際は先にビターチョコを口に含んでから飲みます。 ビターチョコのコクとみりんの甘みでウイスキーボンボンみたいな味に(〃艸〃) 〆は煎茶のサービスがあり、これがまたほっこりと癒されます♪ 1杯目はコク、旨味を味わって 2杯目はスッキリとした味わいを楽しむ。 飲み終えたお茶っ葉は 鰹節とお醤油を垂らしてお浸しとして一口ご飯と一緒に食します。 日本酒だけでなくお茶も楽しめるって凄く良い感じです♡ なので こちらのお店は日本酒が飲めない方にもお勧めしたい〜♡ 帰りは時代劇で見た事のあるカチカチっ！と火花が散る火打石で見送られ〜 始終素敵な時間を過ごせました♡ 癒される日本酒BAR〜畠山さん ごちそうさまでした☆

Amazing time at Sake Bar Hatakayema - the owner is passionate, very kind and guiding you through the tasting with detailed descriptions (in English) for a fantastic experience for amateurs and nihonshu newbies.
