Obicà – Italian Comfort in an Elegant Osaka Setting 🇮🇹
Tucked inside the gorgeous, theatre-like Herbis PLAZA ENT, Obicà offers a refined yet approachable Italian experience in the heart of Osaka. I stopped by for their ¥11,000 set menu for two, which included warm house-made bread, a mozzarella cheese platter, pasta, pizza, and dessert.
The mozzarella flight—ranging from classic to burrata and buffalo—was a standout, beautifully paired with prosciutto and cherry tomatoes. Pasta was slightly overcooked for my taste, but the tomato and cheese sauce had a nice balance. Their signature pizza (half margherita, half black truffle) brought back fond memories of my Tokyo visit—though the crust was softer this time, the flavors held up well.
For dessert, I confirmed with the staff: “Is your tiramisu Roman-style?” With a smile, they assured me it was—and they delivered. Airy mascarpone, bold espresso, and perfectly soaked sponge made for a light yet satisfying finish.

Salad was sad...glassy damaged arugula! It appeared to be a salad made the day before!
Buffalo Mozzarella with grilled zucchini and pine nuts was nice.
My glass of wine from previously open bottle is probably stored on Nitrogen for a few days and this has bruised the flavor.
Service was also extremely slow and missing in action to absent. Asked for a roll of bread three times and finally they brought it.
Olive oil is too bitter.
