Osaka Tonkatsu Umeda — Restaurant in Osaka

As I always tell them, it is even bigger than what you are imagining 😏 Pork cuts are thick, but don't think tonkatsu, as the panko is much thinner, think about German knuckle with a thin layer of panko and then fried. Very tasty, full of flavor. Included with your sando, you get two fried bread crusts and also some gloves to eat it, trust me you'll be needing those specially with the cheese katsu-sando. A bit expensive, not gonna lie, but I think that all in all it's a good investment. Also, only takeout is available.

Forgot to mention, went there at 14'00 on a Sunday and there was no waiting line, so I can't comment about that. Also, as a negative point, maybe they should open until later, as I can't arrive on time there during the weekdays after work, therefore having to go...

We found this little tonkatsu stand thanks to a TikTok video recommending places in Osaka. It’s a small shop where you order from a window, and the person working there was very kind and friendly. Prices are super reasonable and the food was delicious — we tried the pork katsu sandwich and the egg salad sandwich. The pork one was absolutely spectacular, and the egg salad was also very tasty. The only small issue was that we assumed we could eat nearby, but couldn’t really find a spot around (though we didn’t ask if we could eat there). Still, I’d 100% come back just for that pork...

Best pork sandwich we’ve found so far in Japan! I don’t eat meat but my husband bought it and he said it’s the best sandwich he’s had so far in Japan. Takeaway only so we had to eat in the hotel probably it would taste even better if we eat immediately there.

Tasting details: super thick portion, the meat is cooked tender and juicy, the sauce and the seasoning complements the meat but not overpowering, the breading around the meat is thin so it makes the meat the main player in this show, they also gave us gloves so it’s...
