Why didn’t I find this place sooner? This place is great. It is vegan, it doesn’t use any animal derived ingredients on it’s seasonings and stocks etc, and it doesn’t use 5 pungent roots. It is truly 素, just like Taiwanese standards.
Mapo tofu was delicious. I had been eating vegan food with not much variety in taste bcs Japanese seasonings always use fish or animal stock. But finally I had mapo tofu in Saijiki which had peppercorn in it and it had so much taste I finished the whole pot , very relieved I finally can eat something with taste other than sugar, salt or soy sauce.
Hot & sour noodle tasted okay, fried dumplings tasted nice, served with little cabbage salad & vegan mayo.
Oh why didn’t I find this place sooner? I am curious to try other dishes I’ll be back tomorrow.
Edit: I am back today and tried some other dishes!
Stir fried yamabushi mushroom: too many vegetables compared to the menu picture. Seasonal veg are used, so it is not always the same veg used as in the picture. Can’t really taste the mushroom as it tasted more like flour but still nice. Vegetables still had their original fresh taste which is good. They also use xiang chun as seasoning so it tasted fragrant.
Ru soy meat rice: nice! The pickled veg compliments the dish well. MUST ADD their homemade chili oil (self serve at the counter)👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 i could snack on the chili oil alone its so good.
Wonton soup: ok, good soup, filling has ginger etc
Toona sinensis fried rice: good balance between the xiang chun and the vegetables and corn used. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 safe food that is filling and will order again.
Overall their food are mostly good if not very good. No failed dishes. This is a very safe place to eat and I definitely would recommend to my fellow vegetarian/vegan friends that is...

The lunch time is between 11 to 13:00 AM. The price is very affordable for most of the tourist along with locals. The rice bowel lunch set is tasty and satiating. Pay by the self-service vending machine to take the order and give the ticket to the waiter (or the chief?) then you can enjoy the delicate vegetarian dishes. This restaurant provides with vegetarian dishes which does not conclude onion, garlic and shallot (Five pungent spices vegetarian diet) Very suitable for most of the Taiwanese...
Read moreService was decent, price was good. Dumplings were okay but the flavor lacked a bit of impact. I was surprised that there was no obvious way to order just a bowl of white rice. As for the mapo tofu I feel like there was too much Sichuan pepper and not enough chili and chili oil. The Sichuan pepper taste and numbing effect overpowered the dish and the other flavors. Overall this mapo tofu was much less spicy than othe mapo tofu I have tasted before. As I kept eating it, it started tasting better, but I wouldn't order it again. However if you enjoy a strong Sichuan pepper taste then this might be the right dish for you. The tofu itself was good,...
