Such an experience! CHEAP SUSHI with ¥150 onwards. (¥150 is 3 sushi!!!) (May 2025) see photo for price & menu.
First the board of menu got my attention, the price is cheap. And they serve 3 sushi of same type at one order. And generally all cheap, so I am interested.
Next is the queue, there are a few restaurants here with really long queue, this one is moderate so I decided to try.
Waited about 15mins to get a seat.
The way is to write the order on a piece of paper at your table and pass to the waiter. They also have English menu.
I order 4 orders of sushi and a draft beer, total ¥1150, it is quite cheap.
Many locals are eating here and everyone sitting by the bar watching the sushi chef busy with preparing food or washing. I would say the place is not spotless clean but looks like an eatery that chef only cares more about food than hyper hygienic.
They are making the sushi by order one by one, so it is quite a wait. I think I waited at least 30 mins before my sushi arrived. I had to drinking beer during this time and watching other people eating and trying to learn and imitate them.
So there are two types of sushi soy sauce on the table, one is thick and sweet and another is more liquid and salty. Just pick what you like and “paint” it on the sushi (fish, not on rice)
Then enjoy the sushi, from lighter color to darker color by sequence. There is also pickled ginger on the table for choice, I love them very much, to clean the palette before eating the next one.
The sushi is generally smaller, so it is one mouthful each one. So good and satisfying.
I finish the food faster than the waiting time.
I appreciate this experience and thank you the staff for tolerating my innocent understanding about...
Read moreI had literally stumbled on this hidden gem. It was a Saturday morning right around 11am. I saw a line in front of this restaurant. Everyone in one was of middle age people so to my experience this place must be an all round good food and god price. Hahaha
I got in on the first round of sitting. Hint: if you don’t, you might have to wait for an hour and a half for someone to leave to take their seats.
Upon sitting down, I noticed I was the only foreigner. To me that’s also a good sign, again it says local price. Hahah I tried to turn in my orders in English but the chef couldn’t read that and asked a staff to give me an English menu.
I ordered a small beer, 1 order of yellowtail, 1 order of raw octopus, 1 turban clam and 1 grilled hamachi collar. The bill was 2300¥ and I walked out extremely satisfied! Hahaha when you are traveling look for lines of locals!
Also many people ordered fish soup but I was so stuffed after the grilled fish. Maybe swapping that with the soup would be a good alternative for me...
Read moreA local spot with actual locals eating, drinking and having a jolly good time. Generous portions of sashimi and nigiris prepared right in front of you. Sure, there may be a queue to get a seat. And sure, there may be more waiting once you're seated and have handed over your order. But I promise you all the waiting is well worth it as the food is fresh and the dining experience is authentic as could be. If you require an English menu one would be provided when asked (with pictures to expedite the ordering process). Staff is not particularly friendly but professional which is fine 'cause all you're there to do is gobble up some delicious sushi. If I could comment on one thing is please if the chefs could touch less of their pens/notepads etc. Maybe their cutting boards could be replaced? Overall, a fantastic experience - the sushi is delicious and the final bill was...
